I’ve been slacking on my blogging as of recently but I definitely haven’t been slacking in terms of work. I’ve been in the gym at least 3 times a week, more often than not, 4 times a week. 3 of the days I am getting after it, lifting weights and getting some fitness in (it’s been extremely rigorous). The 4th day I will dedicate to recovery, stretching, mobility, etc. Despite the fact that I haven’t been training as much as I’d like, I can feel myself physically progressing, which has taken time, but it will be worth it once the season rolls around.
The lifts I have been doing have been very applicable to goalkeeping. They’re very power related and goalkeeper specific to the type of movements that a goalkeeper makes. Likewise, the fitness is very similar to that of a goalkeeper as well. Overall, I feel good with where I’m at physically but I can continue to progress until the season starts to ensure that I will be ready for the rigor of a professional season.
