Sorry for the delayed post. We played friday night then over the weekend (Saturday & Sunday) my UW-Whitewater duties called for recruiting at State Cup up in Appleton. Luckily I was able to go with the Torrent scheduling.
Friday night we played the Muskegon Riser out of MI. The game is for the Wischigan Trophy (spelling?) and is won over the course of 2 legs, just like in the Champions League. The prior weeks leading up to the game I felt as if I was training and showing well when I was called upon but I just wasn’t getting the looks I wanted and on Friday night I got that chance and made the starting XI. This would be my regular season home debut as well. Torrent possessed the ball and everything was pretty one sided. I was called into action oddly enough in the opening minutes and dying seconds. Otherwise I didn’t have too much to do. However, I still managed the game well and kept the back line in check defensively speaking. My distribution was very good, much better than what it has been. and my communication was clear and concise. I was voted Man of The Match by the fans and also interviewed after the game as well. It was a good night for me.
Saturday and Sunday were just “another day at the office” recruiting for UW-Whitewater. Despite getting a little too much sun it was a good weekend.
Time to focus on this week of training and Lansing United this Friday on the road.
